"Oyako" literally means "parent and child" in Japanese. This "don" is named like this because you cook chicken and its "child", egg together. Yes, it might sound a bit horrifying, but trust me, it tastes AMAZING!

Ingredients list (4 servings):
Chicken brest or thigh (300g)
Eggs (3~4)
Onions (1)
Pea sprouts (1 pack)
Dashi* (2 cups)
Soy sauce (4 table spoons)
Sugar (1 table spoon)
Cooked rice (as much as you like)
*Bonito stock
The "dashi" is usually in something like tea bags. You will need to put it in boiling water for about 4 minutes when using it as soup stock.
Onions must be sliced, and I recommend the chicken to be cut in bite-size.

After preparations are done, all you need is to cook the ingredients in the pan:
1. Mix and heat the "dashi", soy sauce and sugar.
2. Add the chicken just before the soup boils.
3. Once the chicken is thoroughly cooked, add the eggs and pea sprouts, and simmer for a few minutes. (The soup should be evaporating a bit)
4. Serve it on top of a layer of cooked rice!
Balanced and high in nutrients, plus time-saving. This is one of my favourite meals on a busy night!
